Wave power unit installed near Victoria

bioWAVEAusBN – Marine hydrokinetics company BioPower Systems has installed a 250-kilowatt wave power demonstration unit near Port Fairy, Victoria.

Called bioWAVE, the device is a 26-metre tall oscillating structure that captures energy from waves and converts it into electricity, which is fed into the grid through an undersea cable.
